The ECAC is at the top of NCAA again again this year. The past 2 National Champions are ECAC teams Union and Yale. This list takes a look at the top recruits coming into the conference this year.
The players aren’t listed in any particular order and this is a live list, meaning there will be updates.
– ECAC Recruits –
Tyler Bird (F) 96′ – Brown KUA Prep – Was a standout in the Mass HS ranks, came to KUA, was a really good player there too.
Kelly Summers (D) 96′ Clarkson Careleton Place CJHL – Strong defenseman is being looked at by a lot of NHL teams.
Wiley Sherman (D) 95′ Harvard – Hotchkiss Prep – Towering blue liner. A lot to like about his potential.
Tanner MacMaster (F) 96′ Quinnipiac Camrose AJHL – Should bring an instant impact to the Bobcats up front.
Michael Prapavessi (D) 96′ RPI – Toronto Lakeshore OJHL – Puck moving defender for a team who needs one.
Ryan Hitchcock – (F) 96′ – Yale – USNTDP – Impressive resume, has size and can score. World Jr. team candidate.
Henry Hart –(F) 95′ Yale – Phillips-Exeter – Should be a solid depth player for Yale in 14′-15′.
Eddie Ellis (F) 95′ – Harvard Middlesex USPHL – Harvard has a good group of forwards, Ellis should fit in immediately.
Evan Tiornese (F) 95′ -RPI Green Bay USHL – A proven scorer at the USHL level, should have a lot of opportunities. Won’t arrive until 2015 as he will be in the BCHL this season.
Down the Line…
(G) Alec Dillon – RPI – 96′ – NHL scouts love big, athletic goaltenders and RPI has had a few (Allen York, Jason Kasdorf). Dillon is next in line. He was a top performer in the BCHL, drafted over the summer and will spend this season in the USHL prior to arriving at RPI.
(F) Brett Supinski – Union – 95′ – Played for a prep team that really doesn’t get much attention (Millbrook), but was a consistent scorer. This year he’s playing in the BCHL (Coquitlam) and has already started to score at a good clip. Looks like Union found a diamond in the rough.
(F) Taggart Corriveau – St. Lawrence – 97′ – (2016) Won’t arrive for another two seasons, but Corriveau is the real deal. He plays in the New England Prep league for Westminster and was rated very high on Central Scouting’s list of players to watch for the 2015 NHL Draft.
(G) Keith Petruzelli – Quinnipiac – 99′ – Yes, he’s fifteen years old and yes, he’s the biggest goaltending prospect in New England, if not the entire country. Petruzelli plays in the Boston Jr. Bruins organization and for Springfield Cathedral, a Western Massachusetts HS powerhouse. Brother DJ is also a Quinnipiac recruit.
(F) Ryan Donato – Harvard – 96′ – The undisputed best player in prep hockey in 13′-14′ Donato has put Dexter on the map. (His uncle is the coach) He’s starting 14′-15′ playing in the USPHL (formerly the EJHL) for the South Shore Kings. Donato was a high NHL Draft selection in 2014 by the Boston Bruins.
(F) Anthony Angello – Cornell – 96′ – Playing for Omaha in the USHL this year, Angello is a rare blend of size and skill. He’s put up big points at every level, especially in New York State HS hockey, where as a freshman he absolutely tore it up. Has played in some big games, should be an immediate impact player for Cornell.
