Whether it’s the Regals or Jr. Sabres, every year there is a dominant New York team from Buffalo, Long Island and Syracuse. This year, the Jr. Sabres look like the team to beat. It’s usually tough to get a read on the Jr. Sabres because they play basically a 50/50 schedule between the United States and Canada.

(Surprisingly there aren’t actually that many Tier 1 AAA programs in the state of Connecticut.) Mid-Fairfield (formerly the Mid-Fairfield Blues have held the top spot for the past decade.) Mid-Fairfield’s midget programs (U-16 – U-18 Tier 1) are typically among the best in the country and draw from a strong pool of New England Prep league players.
