The top Tier 1 Bantam hockey teams in the Northeast.

Whether it’s the Regals or Jr. Sabres, every year there is a dominant New York team from Buffalo, Long Island and Syracuse. This year, the Jr. Sabres look like the team to beat. It’s usually tough to get a read on the Jr. Sabres because they play basically a 50/50 schedule between the United States and Canada.

Top Gun places two teams on the list, quite an impressive feat in a state that packs so many Tier 1 programs in  such a geographically small area.

1.Mid-Fairfield Jr. Rangers

2. CT Wolfpack

3. CT Oilers

(Surprisingly there aren’t actually that many Tier 1 AAA programs in the state of Connecticut.) Mid-Fairfield (formerly the Mid-Fairfield Blues have held the top spot for the past decade.) Mid-Fairfield’s midget programs (U-16 – U-18 Tier 1) are typically among the best in the country and draw from a strong pool of New England Prep league players.

Boston Jr Eagles

Boston Jr Terriers

Middlesex Islanders

Boston Bandits

East Coast Wizards

Springfield Rifles

Minuteman Flames

Valley Jr. Warriors

South Shore Kings

Bay State Breakers

Boston Jr. Rangers

Boston Jr. Bruins

Boch Blazers

There are no shortage of Tier 1 AAA programs in Massachusetts. The Jr. Terriers and Jr. Eagles have quickly become the premier developmental programs in the Bay State. The Boston Jr. Eagles are rated by some as the top bantam team outside the Midwest.

Team Comcast

Pitt Esmark Stars

Pitt Penguins Elite

Philadelphia Little Flyers

W/B Scran Jr. Knights

Philly Revolution

No surprise to see Team Comcast having another strong season. The program is a contender every year and churns out some of the best players at the next level on a consistent basis.
