Notes: Denver will play a few more ECAC opponents this season. They travel to Ithaca later in the year for 2 games against Cornell. They also play in the Dartmouth Showcase tournament which also features St. Lawrence.

Denver coach Will Montgomery was an assistant at RPI under current coach Seth Appert. Appert won two national titles as an assistant at Denver in 2005 and 2006.

Denver has played in only one game. 3-2 exhibition game over McGill.

RPI beat PEI in an exhibition game then beat Notre Dame 3-2 and lost to Minnesota 0-3.

RPI Notes: Expect to see Sr. (G) Scott Diebold see a start this weekend. Kasdorf played every minute in the Notre Dame tournament. Unless Kasdorf plays and has a nice game on Friday, expect Diebold to play one of the games.

Denver is traditionally a very tough program although they no longer play in the once feared WCHA. A win for RPI could signifiy this team deserves a little more attention. The Engineers beat Notre Dame in their home opener and then gave the country’s #1 ranked team a decent showing. A win over a strong non-conference opponent would put the Engineers in a nice position two weeks into the season.
